Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.
NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

I've had my Google voice since 2010 or 2011. It was meant to be a phone number you give when you don't want to give your real number...now it's my REAL number! I love everything about it-especially the fact that even when I don't have the device I can always count on getting my messages via my PC or email. You can make phone calls from the PC send text messages from the PC and receive them as well. And if your number is disconnected yo Google voice is NEVER disconnected!
I'm in Canada. The app let's me download and install but then when I run and sign in it says it is unsupported. Annoying. Also you'd think that so many years after it rolled out in other countries it would finally be available in Canada, but no such luck. I guess we are too small a market for Google to bother. This service may be good for other countries, but useless in Canada.
Incoming calls no longer ring on the forwarded cell phone. All "fixes" do not work. I have to forward our work landline directly to my phone the old fashioned way. The only thing we use this for anymore is texting and even that is buggy. Posting in the forums doesn't help, you just get told to do basic stuff you have already done over and over like uninstalling and reinstalling the app or making sure DND isn't toggled on.
This is a great app which I have been using for several years. Previously I was able to assign a unique ringtone to Voice. This works on a phone running Android 12 but I no longer see the option on phones running Android 13 or 14. Allowing different ringtones for Phone and Voice was a very useful feature. This app was always 5 stars but it's very disappointing that recent versions of Android no longer show this function. Clearing cache does not help !.
Excellent service through Google I use it so much I don't even use my cellular data to make phone calls. The calls are crystal clear and I don't have any dropped calls. Keep up the good work Google 😎👍🏻 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
